Whenever I think about Soul music, Sam Cooke and Otis are the first names that come across my mind. Lovely selection! Thanks for this little tenderness Joe!

Thanks as always, Djibril. I’m glad you enjoy these (and now I’m not sure why I didn’t include “Try a Little Tenderness”–I might need to do an edit). Sam Cooke coming soon!

It would always be hard to choose 10 songs for such a great artist like Otis. Your comment just made me realize his vast collection of wonderful songs! Even more incredible for someone who passed away at 26!
But I think, Sam Cooke’s playlist will be even harder! Definitely one of the greatest artist of all times. Bring it on!

I’ve got my Sam Cooke songs already lined up – you’ll have to let me know how I did. As for Otis – yes, it’s unbelievable to think what “the greats” accomplished at such young ages – even folks like Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, who obviously are still around – what they had done by age 25. Amazing. I don’t think we will ever see anything like it in music again
